Việt Nam reports 2,758 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday

HÀ NỘI  Việt Nam on Wednesday announced 2,758 new COVID-19 infections nationwide, along with two deaths.

All the new transmissions were domestic, and 1,921 were detected in the community.

The capital Hà Nội continued to register the highest daily case count with 538 new infections, followed by Nghệ An Province with 178 and Phú Thọ with 159.

Other new transmissions were found in Bắc Ninh (130), Bắc Giang (101), Quảng Ninh (98), Yên Bái (95), Tuyên Quang (92), Vĩnh Phúc (88), Quảng Bình (83), Bắc Kạn (75), Nam Định (74), Lào Cai (69), Thái Bình (62), Hà Nam (61), Hưng Yên (60), Lâm Đồng (57), Đà Nẵng (56), Hải Dương (52), Ninh Bình (49), Hải Phòng (42), Thái Nguyên (40), Đắk Nông (34), Cao Bằng (33), Sơn La (33), Bình Dương (31), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (29), Quảng Ngãi (29), Hòa Bình (28), Hà Tĩnh (27), Quảng Trị (26), Hà Giang (25), Lạng Sơn (24), HCM City (23), Điện Biên (20), Bình Phước (18), Thanh Hóa (15), Lai Châu (15), Bến Tre (14), Gia Lai (14), Tây Ninh (12), Bình Định (9), Vĩnh Long (7), Bạc Liêu (5), Hậu Giang (5), Thừa Thiên Huế (5), Bình Thuận (5), Khánh Hòa (5), Phú Yên (3), Cà Mau (2), Long An (1), Trà Vinh (1) and Đồng Tháp (1).

The national caseload since the start of the pandemic now stands at 10,683,972. In the past week, the country saw an average of 3,075 new infections daily.

The two fatalities were in the provinces of Hậu Giang (1) and Trà Vinh (1).

The total number of COVID-related fatalities in Việt Nam is now 43,060, or 0.4 per cent of total infections.

A further 2,589 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 9,327,523.

More than 216.1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country to date, of which over 2 million have been given to children aged 5 to 11. — – VnExpress News
