Northern Vietnam to enjoy rainy reprieve from heat next week

Northern Vietnam will continue to experience hot, sunny days until next Tuesday, when rains will return to the region, weather experts say.

An incoming air mass from the sea will cause a low-pressure area and trigger a shift in weather patterns in northern Vietnam starting next Wednesday, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

The low-pressure area would trigger rains at night and early morning, the center said.

Hanoi temperatures would be in the range of 29-37 degrees Celsius starting Monday, U.S. weather forecast service AccuWeather has predicted.

Maximum daytime temperatures in the capital city will decrease in the days after, down to 33 degrees next Thursday. In high-altitude areas like Lao Cai’s Sa Pa Town, the temperature range will be 18-25 degrees Celsius.

Central Vietnam, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen provinces, would experience harsh sunny days with the maximum temperatures during the day reaching 35-37 degrees until next Wednesday. Peak temperatures should be expected between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Southern Vietnam and the Central Highlands will see rains next week, mostly at dusk. From July 20 to July 22, maximum temperatures in the Central Highlands would be around 28-31 degrees, and 32-33 degrees in southern Vietnam.
