World’s richest beggar owns nearly $1M


Bharat Jain can seen begging on the streets of Mumbai despite owning assets with a total value of around 75 million rupee (around $914,000).

According to a report by Economic Times, Bharat Jain is the is the wealthiest beggar globally. Starting off as a son of a financially unstable family, Jain was unable to complete his education and had to become a beggar, which turned into a prospect career and helped him acquire a high net worth.

The beggar-almost-millionaire now lives with his family in a duplex apartment in Mumbai’s neighborhood of Parel, reported The Hindustan Times.

He also owns a two-bedroom flat in Mumbai which is estimated to worth around 12 million rupees and two other real estate properties in Mumbai’s neighboring metropolitan area Thane, which is reportedly rented out for around 30,000 rupees a month.

It is calculated that Jain earns between 2,000 and 2,500 rupees a day within a span of 10 to 12 hours working as a beggar. He is often seen around crowded places with potentially generous individuals, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station.

Although his family suggested that he should stop begging, Jain still shows no signs of quitting this career in the near future.
