Vietnam records 188,440 new Covid-19 cases

Hanoi still led the daily tally with 31,899 cases, followed by Vinh Phuc with 22,188 cases and Nghe An with 11,057.

71 deaths were confirmed on Friday, raising the death toll to 41,228, or 0.8 percent of the total number of infections.

In the latest wave that hit the country in late April, more than 5.4 million cases have been confirmed and 3 million of them have recovered.

So far, over 119.2 million vaccine doses have been used for Vietnamese people.
