Vietamese League of Legends pro to play for South Korean team

Dang “TLong” Thanh Long has signed with the Challengers team of South Korean League of Legends (LoL) organization Fredit BRION, becoming the first Vietnamese player to compete there.

TLong, a famous mid laner in Vietnam, has been a part of Fredit BRION’s BRO Academy since Jan. 22, after auditioning for the organization’s recruiting program in Vietnam called “Be My BRO”.

The org announced on Thursday that TLong had become an official member of the Challengers team of Fredit BRION. He will be the very first Vietnamese player to compete in the LCK Challengers, the secondary league of LoL in South Korea.

“After winning the BRION Vietnam audition ‘Be My BRO’ last year, TLong joined the team in January this year and completed the process of adapting to Korea. The summoner named TLong was born in 2003. Please welcome and cheer for TLong!” Fredit BRION wrote on Twitter.

TLong is expected to make his league debut soon when 2022 LCK Challengers Summer kicks off.

“I want to thank everyone who supported me during my time in South Korea, when everything was new to me. I also want to thank everyone that helped me develop when I was in Vietnam. I will try my best to contribute to League of Legends, a game that I love,” TLong said.

It’s still a question if Tlong will play a big part in the upcoming LCK Challengers since Fredit BRION Challengers already have a regular mid laner on the team, Jeong “Feisty” Seong-hoon.

In LCK Challengers Spring earlier this year, Fredit BRION Challengers only peaked ninth and TLong may be considered an addition to strengthen the squad.
