Việt Nam registers 160,676 new daily COVID cases on Thursday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 160,676 new daily infections on Thursday, including 15 imported cases.

The capital Hà Nội continued to record the highest number of daily transmissions with 30,157. 

Thanh Hóa Province registered an additional 30,000 infections recorded from previous days.

Vĩnh Phúc and Bình Định provinces also registered 21,182 and 6,601 extra cases, respectively.

The COVID caseload in Việt Nam since the start of the pandemic now stands at 5,260,945, ranking 20th out of 225 countries and territories worldwide. 

The remaining infections were found in Nghệ An (11,141), Phú Thọ (5,891), Bình Dương (5,302), Sơn La (4,891), Hưng Yên (4,269), Hòa Bình (4,122), Cà Mau (3,914), Tuyên Quang (3,879), Lạng Sơn (3,872), Hải Dương (3,770), Hồ Chí Minh City (3,668), Nam Định (3,554), Hải Phòng (3,533), Quảng Trị (3,463), Lào Cai (3,229), Quảng Ninh (2,903), Bắc Giang (2,863), Đắk Lắk (2,814), Vĩnh Phúc (2,756), Thái Bình (2,722), Thái Nguyên (2,720), Quảng Bình (2,641), Ninh Bình (2,597), Hà Nam (2,427), Bình Phước (2,390), Bình Định (2,339), Điện Biên (2,265), Cao Bằng (2,245), Hà Giang (2,162), Lai Châu (2,151), Bắc Ninh (2,122), Yên Bái (2,049), Khánh Hòa (1,850), Đà Nẵng (1,824), Bến Tre (1,528), Lâm Đồng (1,467), Tây Ninh (1,427), Đắk Nông (1,337), Bắc Kạn (1,270), Thanh Hóa (1,105), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (988), Bình Thuận (883), Hà Tĩnh (875), Vĩnh Long (860), Phú Yên (747), Quảng Ngãi (682), Trà Vinh (454), Đồng Nai (431), Thừa Thiên Huế (378), Kon Tum (371), Quảng Nam (326), Bạc Liêu (305), Long An (207), Cần Thơ (145), Kiên Giang (127), An Giang (88), Đồng Tháp (45), Sóc Trăng (45), Hậu Giang (34), Ninh Thuận (24) and Tiền Giang (17).

Among the new transmissions, a total of 107,465 were detected in the community.

There were 71 COVID-related fatalities announced in Hà Nội (13), Bình Dương (4), Hòa Bình (4), Bình Định (3), Bình Thuận (3), Cà Mau (3), Đà Nẵng (3), Hà Nam (3), Hưng Yên (3), Khánh Hòa (3), Lạng Sơn (3), Thanh Hóa (3), Bắc Giang (2), Bình Phước (2), Gia Lai (2), Nam Định (2), Quảng Ngãi (2), Quảng Ninh (2), Thái Nguyên (2), TP, Hồ Chí Minh (2), An Giang (1), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (1), Bắc Ninh (1), Hậu Giang (1), Lào Cai (1), Quảng Bình (1) and Quảng Trị (1).

Việt Nam’s COVID-19 death toll is now 41,157, accounting for 0.8 per cent of total cases.

The health ministry also reported that 4,044 patients nationwide are in critical condition, with 290 requiring invasive ventilation and four on life support.

A further 53,151 patients were given the all-clear on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 2,908,365. 

More than 198.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country to date. VnExpress News
