Việt Nam records 1,716 new COVID-19 transmissions on Thursday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam reported 1,716 new COVID-19 infections on Thursday, bringing the national total to 10,704,524, according to the Ministry of Health. 

There was one imported case.

Hà Nội still topped the list of new transmissions with 381, followed by the central province of Nghệ An with 126.

The other areas that recorded cases were Phú Thọ (111), Vĩnh Phúc (83), Yên Bái (66), Quảng Ninh (64), Tuyên Quang (63), Quảng Bình (53), Bắc Kạn (51), Hải Dương (49), Sơn La (48), HCM City (46), Thái Bình (43), Thái Nguyên (42), Lào Cai (41), Hải Phòng (31), Đà Nẵng (30), Nam Định (29), Hưng Yên (27), Ninh Bình (27), Lâm Đồng (24), Hà Nam (23), Hà Giang (22), Lai Châu (21), Bình Dương (20), Hòa Bình (20), Quảng Trị (18), Lạng Sơn (17), Cao Bằng (15), Bình Phước (15), Thanh Hóa (13), Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu (12), Bình Thuận (11), Đắk Nông (11), Gia Lai (10), Điện Biên (10), Bình Định (7), Bến Tre (7), Bắc Giang (6), Quảng Ngãi (6), Thừa Thiên-Huế (5), Tây Ninh (3), Long An (2), Kiên Giang (2), Khánh Hòa (1), Trà Vinh (1), Đồng Tháp (1) and Sóc Trăng (1).

The Department of Health in Bắc Giang Province on Thursday added an additional 1,012 cases to the national system.

One COVID-related death was reported in Tây Ninh Province, bringing the death toll to 43,073. 

There were 9,587 new recoveries, bringing the total number given the all-clear to 9,382,881 so far. 

There are 206 COVID patients nationwide currently receiving oxygen support, including 11 on invasive ventilation and two on life support.

A total of 559,511 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday. — VNS
