Katy Perry wears Cong Tri design at American Idol

In the latest episode of the ABC singing competition TV series, Perry attracted attention with an all-back outfit and a sexy top, complimented by shiny leather pants and pointy heels, the getup was different from her usual “exotic” look on the show.

The top, designed by Cong Tri, is sexy but doesn’t reveal too much. Although the design might look simple, it took a large amount of time to get the desired “lantern-like” effect of the design.

Perry and Cong Tri started collaborating in 2017 through a mutual friend. She ordered four outfits from Cong Tri for her world tour Witness. In 2018, the 38-year-old singer donned a unique rainbow suit designed Tri in her first appearance as a judge for American Idol.

Cong Tri, born in Da Nang in 1978, is a member of the Asian Fashion Association. He has created dresses for many A-list celebrities such as Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron, former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama,Rose (BLACKPINK), and Rebecca Ferguson.
