A sedan ran a red light and plunged into 17 motorbike drivers at an intersection in Tay Ho District on Wednesday, injuring some 20 people including children.
The car, driven by Hoang Ho Vinh, 63, did not stop at the intersection of Vo Chi Cong and Xuan La Roads at around 4 p.m. and the vehicle then careened at full speed into a group of motorbike waiting at the red light on
the other side of the street.
Vo Chi Cong is one of the two main roads connecting the Noi Bai International Airport with downtown Hanoi. It is often busy during rush hour.
The car then turned left onto Xuan La Street, dragging two motorbikes and some motorists underneath its chassis, according to witnesses.
