HÀ NỘI — DHL Express has officially inaugurated its new Hà Nội Gateway with a total investment of EUR 11.7 million (US$13.6 million).

This significant milestone underscores DHL’s commitment to facilitating global trade for Việt Nam while deepening its contributions to eco-friendly business practices.

The new Hà Nội Gateway is double the size of the previous one, with 4,500 sq.m in total utilisation space and a fourfold increase in peak handling capacity. The warehouse is supported by a national service network, including a gateway in HCM City, 10 service centres, 17 points, and 25 weekly flights. It is also part of DHL’s 50 gateways in the Asia Pacific region, supported by four main hubs such as the Central Asia Hub, the North Asia Hub, the South Asia Hub, and the Bangkok Hub.

DHL, the world’s leading international express service provider, is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050; thus, this new warehouse employs advanced carbon-neutral technologies with high-quality equipment and automatic management system software to promote energy efficiency.

Bernardo Bautista, General Director and Country Manager, DHL Express Việt Nam expressed his belief in the nation’s growth potential as a global manufacturing hub, and he affirmed the investment in bolstering interconnectivity between Việt Nam and other countries to support customer development and create opportunities for small and medium businesses.

Việt Nam’s exports are on the rise, driven by improved growth in China, the US, and the EU, alongside robust global demand. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, recent data from October showed a resilient performance, with a significant 157 per cent year-on-year increase in total exports and imports reaching $557.95 billion and a trade surplus of $24.61 billion. Việt Nam’s proactive engagement in crucial international trade agreements is in sync with this positive trend, thus highlighting its resilience and strategic positioning in the global economic landscape.
