Among 33,483 automobiles sold in Vietnam in January, 5,534, or 16 percent, are crossovers, also called CUVs.
Although CUVs have not been the best-selling segment in the market, they have been improving, according to combination of data from Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), TC Motor and VinFast.
The market share of this segment rose to 16 percent in January from 12 percent in 2021.
Certain CUV models like the Toyota Corolla Cross or KIA Seltos have sold well, crossing over 1,500 vehicles per month.
On average, the monthly sale of a car model in Vietnam is 547 vehicles.
The best-selling segment in January was still B-class sedans with more than 7,200, accounting for 22 percent of the total sales.
