“We heard the sound of rubble falling first. We didn’t have enough time to react before the wall near the gates, which was 4 meters high and 15 meters long, collapsed. The roof, spanning 100 square meters, fell next, burying three people beneath it,” the witness said.

Nguyen Quoc Hung, chairman of the Hoa Lu District People’s Committee, said that by 10 a.m., rescuers had located three victims among the wreckage. Ngo Thi Nghe, 62, and Nguyen Van Chien, 49, had died, while Cao Van Thien, 63, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Rescue teams from Hoa Lu District are continuing to excavate the site in search of more victims.

The warehouse is part of a packaging factory covering 3,000 square meters. An initial investigation suggests that the warehouse’s structure may have deteriorated over several years, leading to the collapse.
