12,029 new coronavirus infections registered on Thursday

HÀ NỘI — A total of 12,029 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Việt Nam on Thursday.

So far the country has had 10,533,164 patients, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories worldwide.

All of the new cases were domestic. The number of new infections was down by 1,242 compared with yesterday.

The new cases were reported in 59 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.

9,074 transmissions were detected in the community.

The capital city of Hà Nội led the country with 986 cases.

The other localities that reported new transmissions were Phú Thọ (836), Quảng Ninh (550), Bắc Giang (550), Nghệ An (511), Yên Bái (487), Hải Dương (484), Vĩnh Phúc (414), Gia Lai (393), Tuyên Quang (383), Đắk Lắk (375), Lào Cai (373), Thái Nguyên (339), Bắc Kạn (331), Thái Bình (279), Đắk Nông (277), Quảng Bình (274), Bắc Ninh (243), Hưng Yên (240), Nam Định (229), Cao Bằng (210), Ninh Bình (207), Đà Nẵng (204), Lạng Sơn (198), Lâm Đồng (194), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (193), Hà Giang (181), Quảng Trị (160), Lai Châu (156), Hà Nam (155), Hà Tĩnh (154), Hòa Bình (150), Tây Ninh (100), Quảng Nam (99), Điện Biên (97), Bình Phước (96), HCM City (94), Bình Định (93), Vĩnh Long (89), Bình Dương (79), Bến Tre (77), Quảng Ngãi (68), Cà Mau (65), Thanh Hóa (64), Phú Yên (61), Long An (36), Đồng Tháp (33), Khánh Hòa (32), Bình Thuận (29), Thừa Thiên Huế (27), Bạc Liêu (22), An Giang (14), Trà Vinh (10), Kiên Giang (6), Đồng Nai (5), Kon Tum (5), Hậu Giang (5), Cần Thơ (4) and Tiền Giang (3).

8,693 patients were declared recovered from the virus, with 9,076,927 people given the all-clear so far.

Nine fatalities related to COVID-19 were reported in Đồng Nai (2), Đắk Lắk (1), Kiên Giang (1), Lâm Đồng (1), Sóc Trăng (1), Tây Ninh (1), Trà Vinh (1) and Vĩnh Long (1).
