World Cup semifinals: France 1-0 Morocco

Moroccan captain Romain Saiss was subbed off for Selim Amallah, which is not surprising given the injury he suffered in the last match with Portugal.

Morocco switched to attack quickly as Ziyech picked up a fine pass close to the box. The chance would have been more relevant if Ziyech took the shot with his left foot.

Both teams started slow, but after France’s early opener, the pace increased.

Morocco had their response with Azzedine Ounahi’s dangerous curler but Lloris made an excellent save.

France play the game in their traditional blue jersey and Morocco in red. The first World Cup semifinal involving an African team is officially underway.
