Wife of Asia’s richest billionaire Mukesh Ambani prefers street food for son’s wedding

The four-day wedding between Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant is considered a “public event” for Mumbai with the participation of VIP guests such as Indian and international celebrities, businessmen and politicians.

Many netizens are curious about the menu that will be served at the wedding.

According to India’s economic newspaper Mint, Nita recently went to India’s oldest and most famous Kashi Chaat Bhandaar restaurant located in Varanasi City to enjoy dishes there.

She then invited the owner, Rakesh Keshari, to provide specialty snacks for the wedding.

Guests will be treated to the famous chaats served by the famous restaurant during the wedding party, Indian Express reported, adding the unexpected choice highlights the family’s connection to India’s rich culinary heritage.

Kashi Chaat Bhandaar is a more than 70-year-old restaurant, specializing in chaat, a popular street snack in India that consists of fried dough with a diverse mixture of ingredients, spices, and sauces.

Some dishes that could be served at the wedding include tikki, tomato chaat, palak chaat, chana kachori, and kulfi.

“Nita Ambani came to our chaat bhandaar on June 24, where she tasted tikki chaat, tomato chaat, palak chaat, and kulfi falooda. She was very happy and said that the chaat of Banaras is very famous. It was a pleasure to serve her,” the restaurant owner said.

The main wedding ceremony will take place at the Jio World Convention Center in central Mumbai from July 12, with a traditional Hindu ceremony and reception held two days later.

A special reception for Ambani family staff will take place on July 15.

As of July 11, Forbes estimated Mukesh Ambani’s net worth at over US$122 billion, positioning him as the richest person in Asia and the 11th wealthiest globally.
