VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2022 to grant $60,000 prizes

VM Hanoi Midnight 2022 will grant 134 individual prizes and 10 team prizes worth a total of VND1.5 billion (US$60,390).

The full marathon prize will once again be split into two equal-value categories: professional and amateur.

The winners, first and second runners-up will each receive prizes worth VND32 million ($1,288), VND28 million, and VND23 million, respectively. Garmin watches and Adidas items are included in the prize pool in addition to cash.

To place in the top three, male athletes must not break any of the tournament’s general rules and have a gun time of under 2 hours, 45 minutes. Less than 3 hours and 10 minutes are needed for females.

The results will be transferred to the age category if runners do not match the requirements.

The first-ever team and cosplay category at VM Hanoi Midnight 2022 will award each winner with VND5 million.

The top 10 finishers in the team category will also get prizes ranging from VND7 million to VND74 million.

The top five athletes in the full marathon distance under 30 will receive VND14 million, VND12 million, VND10 million, VND7 million, and VND6 million.

The prize for age groups of 31 to 39 and 40 to 49 will expand to 10. The top three prizes for the age groups of 50 to 59 and over 60 will be worth VND7 million, VND4 million, and VND3 million.

The 21km distance winner will receive nearly VND21 million, the first runner-up VND18 million and the second runner-up nearly VND12 million.

Three prizes worth VND7 million, VND6 million, and VND3 million will be granted to winners in the 10km distance. Three winners of the 5 km distance will each get VND6 million, VND5 million, and VND2 million.

Except for the cosplay category, every athlete only wins one particular prize. The age category prize will not be awarded to those who have already won the full marathon distance prize. Age record breakers will receive VND2 million cash prize.

VM Hanoi Midnight will take place at Dinh Tien Hoang street on the night of November 26 and the early morning of November 27, attracting more than 10,000 runners. The tournament will be the fifth and last of VM’s journey through five famous tourist cities in 2022.
