Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index dropped 0.01% to 1,172.81 points Thursday.
The index closed 0.17 points lower after losing 1.11 points on Wednesday.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) fell by 7.28% to VND16.40 trillion ($693.59 million).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 13 tickers fell.
SSI of leading brokerage SSI Securities Corporation dropped 1.8%, followed by MSN of conglomerate Masan Group with a 1.6% decline.
STB of Ho Chi Minh City-based lender Sacombank and VCB of state-owned lender Vietcombank both closed 1.4% lower.
Thirteen blue chips gained, led by PDR of Phat Dat Real Estate Development with a 3.5% increase.
Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND49.72 billion, mainly selling MSB of Vietnam Maritime Commercial Bank and MSN of conglomerate Masan Group.
The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, where mid and small caps list, was up 0.69% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market was up by 0.60%.
