Việt Nam registers 161,262 coronavirus cases on Monday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 161,262 new daily coronavirus infections on Monday, including 15 imported cases.

The capital Hà Nội continued to record the highest number of daily transmissions with 29,833. 

Quảng Ninh Province registered an additional 32,400 infections recorded from previous days.

Vĩnh Phúc and Lào Cai provinces also registered 25,112 and 16,016 extra cases, respectively.

The COVID caseload in Việt Nam since the start of the pandemic now stands at 6,377,438. 

The remaining infections were found in Nghệ An (10,389), Bắc Ninh (7,471), Phú Thọ (6,997), Thái Nguyên (4,979), Hưng Yên (4,840), Hòa Bình (4,675), Hải Dương (4,324), Sơn La (4,169), Lạng Sơn (4,100), Lào Cai (3,897), Tuyên Quang (3,867), Đắk Lắk (3,644), Cà Mau (3,529), Quảng Ninh (2,988), Quảng Bình (2,986), Vĩnh Phúc (2,975), Thái Bình (2,951), Điện Biên (2,938), Bắc Giang (2,938), Yên Bái (2,769), Bình Định (2,755), Nam Định (2,722), Hà Nam (2,295), Ninh Bình (2,231), Lai Châu (2,217), Bình Phước (2,187), Cao Bằng (2,163), Hồ Chí Minh City (2,159), Bến Tre (2,091), Lâm Đồng (1,949), Hải Phòng (1,886), Đắk Nông (1,836), Quảng Trị (1,786), Bình Dương (1,689), Bắc Kạn (1,341), Tây Ninh (1,290), Đà Nẵng (1,235), Khánh Hòa (1,158), Trà Vinh (1,074), Phú Yên (1,035), Thanh Hóa (940), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (909), Hà Tĩnh (887), Vĩnh Long (824), Bình Thuận (622), Quảng Ngãi (589), Kon Tum (391), Quảng Nam (347), Thừa Thiên Huế (291), Bạc Liêu (285), Kiên Giang (132), Đồng Nai (128), An Giang (117), Long An (108), Cần Thơ (94), Ninh Thuận (75), Đồng Tháp (71), Hậu Giang (31), Sóc Trăng (30), Tiền Giang (18).

Among the new transmissions, a total of 113,084 cases were detected in the community.

There were 92 COVID-related fatalities announced, in Hà Nội (11), Quảng Ninh (7), Bến Tre (4), Hải Dương (4), Kiên Giang (4), Phú Thọ (4), Thanh Hóa (4 ca trong 2 ngày), Bắc Giang (3), Bạc Liêu (3), Cà Mau (3), Nam Định (3), Ninh Bình (3), HCM City (3), Bắc Kạn (2), Đồng Nai (2), Hà Nam (2), Khánh Hòa (2), Lạng Sơn (2), Quảng Bình (2), Quảng Trị (2), Sóc Trăng (2), Thái Nguyên (2), Trà Vinh (2), An Giang (1), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu (1), Bắc Ninh (1), Bình Thuận (1), Cần Thơ (1), Cao Bằng (1), Đà Nẵng (1), Điện Biên (1), Gia Lai (1), Hà Tĩnh (1), Hải Phòng (1), Hậu Giang (1), Hòa Bình (1), Quảng Ngãi (1), Tây Ninh (1) and Tuyên Quang (1).

Việt Nam’s COVID-19 death toll is now 41,477, accounting for 0.7 per cent of total cases.

The health ministry also reported that 4,230 patients nationwide are in critical condition, with 319 requiring invasive ventilation and four on life support.

A further 108,407 patients were given the all-clear on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,271,978.

More than 200.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country to date. — VnExpress News
