THỪA THIÊN HUẾ — Việt Nam topped the medal table at the Asian Shuttlecock Championships and Asian Youth Shuttlecock Championships, wrapping up on August 26 in Thừa Thiên Huế Province.
The hosts took eight gold and six silver medals to dominate the continental tournament.
The senior players championed in the men’s singles, doubles and team and women’s team categories. Meanwhile the junior competitor won in the women’s doubles, mixed doubles and men’s and women’s team classes.
China came second with three gold, six silver and five bronze medals, followed by Hong Kong with two gold, two silver and 10 bronze medals.
The second Asian senior and youth championships was from August 22-26, featuring 240 athletes from nine delegations including China, Mongolia, Laos, Thailand, India, and Việt Nam.
The first event held in Hong Kong in 2023 also saw Việt Nam on the top position with 11 gold and three silver medals. VNS
