The Vietnam International Defense Expo to be held in Hanoi next month has attracted the participation of 29 countries including the U.S. and Russia.
Announcing details about the expo in Hanoi on Thursday, Major General Nguyen Viet Hung, deputy political commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry, said local and foreign companies are set to display combat vehicles, technologies, weapons and equipment for the navy, army, air force and cyber warfare weapons.
Vietnam would showcase technologies and products like guns and ammunition for the army, artillery, air force and navy, chemical explosives, detonators, optical equipment, ships, armor, equipment for diversionary tactics, communication systems, radar, and electronic warfare systems.
Control systems, simulation training, opto-electronic devices, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), cyber warfare systems, weapons and equipment, supporting technologies, patrol technologies, security control, and fire safety equipment will also be on display.
To be held from Dec. 8 to 10 at Gia Lam Airport, the exhibition would help Vietnam diversify procurement to serve the production of weapons and technical equipment, Hung said.
It would also be an opportunity for Vietnam to learn about global development trends in technical equipment and seek arms export opportunities, he said.
So far 170 companies from Vietnam and countries in Asia, Europe and America have registered to take part.
Entry will be free for visitors.
