URC Vietnam wins prestigious awards for sustainable development

The company was honored as one of the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses 2023 at the Announcing Ceremony of Sustainable Companies in Vietnam on Dec. 13. This marks the fifth consecutive year the company has been mentioned in this prestigious award.

The Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI Awards) program entered its eighth year of operation in 2023, signifying a milestone in recognizing and commending businesses for their exceptional commitment to responsible production and business activities across three dimensions: economic efficiency, corporate governance, as well as environmental and social responsibilities.

The program, under the leadership of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and directed by the government, is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Economic Committee within the program’s steering committee.

The CSI 2023 index comprises 130 indicators, integrating the Environmental Protection Law of 2020 while emphasizing three factors: carbon emission accounting, climate change adaptation and mitigation activities, and the implementation of circular economy models.

Based on the comprehensive index and stringent evaluations by the organizing committee, URC Vietnam Company Limited has remarkably surpassed nearly 500 participating profiles, meeting the rigorous criteria, and been named among the Top 100 Sustainable Enterprises in 2023.

Previously, URC Vietnam Company Limited was also honored at the Environmental, Social, and Governance Impact Showcase Awards for its initiatives in sustainable development aligned with the United Nations Millennium Goals, presented by the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam.

With the aspiration to become a sustainable global enterprise of world-class talent, URC Vietnam has been and is integrating its ESG values into its strategic planning and decision-making processes.

A representative of URC Vietnam Company Limited stated that the company consistently aims to provide customers and consumers with high-quality products that have high nutritional value, aligning with URC Vietnam’s health criteria.

The organization has been actively engaged in community initiatives that prioritize pure water, education, and gender equality. As of this instant, seven water filtration system installations and educational presents have been distributed in tea-growing regions to improve the quality of life for students.

Additionally, URC Vietnam engages in partnerships with the Child Protection Fund in Hanoi and Binh Duong, the two locations where its factories are situated, to implement initiatives that promote gender equality and education.
