Two men working for an elevator operating firm in Hanoi were killed as the cabin fell when they were repairing it on Wednesday.
The accident took place at 5:42 p.m. at a building on Kim Ma Street in Ba Dinh District. The building for rent has eight floors, including the ground floor. It is currently under renovation.
At the scene, Ba Dinh District Police found one person on the roof of the cabin while the other was stuck under the pit of the elevator and was crushed by the cabin.
The one that was stuck under the pit was confirmed dead on the spot while the other died while being rushed to hospital.
Police are investigating further and have yet to reveal the men’s identities.
