Authorities in America’s Wisconsin State are investigating a case in which eight tourists were left hanging upside-down on a rollercoaster at a festival for at least three hours.
Video footage posted by a Facebook user showed the rollercoaster car carrying eight people, including seven children start moving to the top of the track when it suddenly stopped due to a technical issue, leaving them hanging upside down with their seat belts fastened.
It took nearly three and a half hours to get the passengers down. Nobody was injured but one person was taken to a nearby hospital, CBS News reported.
The incident took place on Sunday at the Forest county festival in Crandon City.
The exact cause is under investigation but the rollercoaster operator described it as a “mechanical failure.”
Last month, a group of 11 tourists were left hanging upside-down on a rollercoaster after a power outage caused chaos at a theme park in China’s Hebei Province.
