LienVietPostBank gets new chairman

LienVietPostBank made Nguyen Duc Thuy its new chairman Friday.

The board promoted Thuy, a 46-year-old deputy chairman at the lender, after accepting the resignation of former chairman Huyen Ngoc Huy.

Huy had resigned for personal reasons.

Thuy had been a board member at LienVietPostBank since the end of April last year, and he became deputy chairman a week later.

He graduated from Colorado State University in the U.S. and has chaired a diverse array of companies, including Thai Group, Thaiholdings, Kim Lien Tourism and hospitality firm Enclave Phu Quoc.

He was also a deputy chairman at two solar energy companies in central Vietnam.

Former chairman Huy had sung Thuy’s praises at a ceremony appointing him to the board last year.

Huy said Thuy would bring the board his strategic vision, good business partnerships and a wealth of management experience across fields.

Huy expected Thuy would help expand the bank’s network of potential customers.

LienVietPostBank is one of Vietnam’s largest lenders in terms of reach, with over 1,000 transaction points.

The lender recorded over VND5.5 trillion in transactions over the first 11 months of 2022, exceeding its annual target of VND4.8 trillion.
