Thousands of university students join responsible drinking campaign


More than 2,000 students and teachers from Ton Duc Thang University in HCMC participated in a responsible drinking program and signed a pledge to enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly.

The “Enjoy responsibly – Don’t be drunk and drive” campaign was launched on the occasion of the National Traffic Safety Month and the 25th anniversary of Ton Duc Thang University.

Anheuser-Busch InBev company, AB InBev foundation and Budweiser launched a series of activities in partnership with universities to spread the message of responsible drinking, reducing the harm of alcohol abuse.

As part of the campaign, more than 2,000 students and teachers of Ton Duc Thang University signed the pledge to adhere to responsible enjoyment following the spirit of Anheuser-Busch InBev and the Budweiser brand, which includes only consuming beer when they are of legal age.

“It is a good idea to raise awareness of traffic safety and the negative effects of alcohol at the university,” a student who participated in the campaign said.

Truong Van Toan, director of legal and external affairs at AB InBev Vietnam, said: “AB InBev Vietnam, AB InBev foundation and Budweiser hope to spread the message: “Be responsible because someone needs you, and raise public awareness on safe drinking.”

The campaign will continue to expand across Vietnam in 2023, aiming to create a positive influence on the young generation, while contributing to a healthy lifestyle.
