South Korean tourist dies in Da Lat after slamming motorbike into power pole


Police in the Central Highlands resort town of Da Lat said Monday a South Korean tourist died after his motorbike crashed into a roadside power pole.

The accident happened at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday when the 54-year-old man was going from Tran Hung Dao Street to Hung Vuong Street, police said as cited by Vietnam News Agency.

Local people took him to Lam Dong General Hospital where he died of severe injuries.

His motorbike was badly damaged in what was possibly a high-speed crash.

Police concluded his motorbike ran into a power pole and he fell off it and on the road.

They said he had been staying at Antonico Villa since March 22 and rented the motorbike.
