SEA Games athletes, coaches get free admission to Angkor Wat

Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen has offered all foreign athletes and coaches at the SEA Games free admission to Angkor Wat.

Phnom Penh Post quoted him as saying Monday: “After the games, if athletes want to visit Angkor Wat, they will not be required to buy tickets, but will be admitted for free. I want to make this clear.

“Cambodia may be a small country, but it has a big heart.”

Tickets to enter the Angkor Archeological Park cost foreigners US$37-72 depending on the time of day.

The temple complex attracts millions of visitors every year from all over the world, and was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1992.

Cambodia is hosting the 32nd SEA Games from May 5 to 17.
