Grammy-winning singer Kenneth Brian Edmonds, better known as Babyface, will perform at the 2022 HCMC International Music Festival in December.
The 12-time Grammy winner will be the most prominent of 250 domestic and international artists to perform at the festival.
Musician Huy Tuan, director of the festival said he knew Babyface, also producer and songwriter, after attending music festivals in Europe. But he was surprised when he agreed to come to Vietnam because he is one of the big names in the international music industry.
“It’s not just about the financial factor, it’s also his love for Vietnam,” Tuan said.
Tuan revealed that in addition to Babyface, many international artists from the US, South Korea, the UK, France, Spain and India will participate in the performance.
Vietnamese singers and bands performing at the festival will include Uyen Linh, Van Mai Huong, Vu Cat Tuong, Dong Nhi, Bich Phuong, Ngot and Unlimited… All singers will perform with live bands, using no tracks.
The 2022 HCMC International Music Festival will take place from December 8 to 11 at two locations: Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1); and Thu Thiem Bridge Park 2 (Thu Duc City).
Babyface has written over 26 number-one R&B hits in his career. He won a record four Grammy awards as Producer of the Year.
