Pit bull mauls boy to death

On Friday afternoon, the boy visited his grandparents’ house in Dong Tien Commune. His grandmother, Le Thi Lien, was lying on her hammock, so the boy went to the backyard by himself.

Hearing her grandson scream, she rushed out and saw the boy was being attacked by a pit bull. She then chased the dog away and the boy was taken to hospital. However, his injuries were too severe, resulting in his death.

The pit bull belongs to a neighbor, who asked Lien to temporarily take care of it while they were away. Lien had chained the dog in the backyard.

Local authorities and police forces are now investigating the case.
