The storage section of a Circle K store in HCMC’s District 4 collapsed from the first floor Wednesday morning, with many customers and staff members in the ground floor.

The accident took place at around 9 a.m. when nearly 10 employees and customers were on the ground floor of the 40-sq.m Circle K store on Vinh Hoi Street of Ward 4.
The store uses its the first floor as a warehouse and also a space for dining, with portable tables and chairs.
The first person was taken out of the store at 9:45 a.m. She was unconscious and injured all over her body.
Huong, a woman who lives nearby, said: “I was in my house when I heard a big bang. Many screamed for help but the front door of the store was blocked by goods and no one could get in.”
Locals said the store was recently under repair and has just been reopened for several days.
Do Thi Truc Mai, District 4’s vice chairwoman, said: “There is now no official information on fatalities or damage.”
