HÀ NỘI —  In the men’s pair at Thuỷ Nguyên Rowing Centre of Hải Phòng City on May 14, Indonesians Denri M Al Ghiffari and Ferdiansyah made their best finish in 6min 57.72sec, one minute faster than the host duo Trần Dương Nghĩa and Phan Mạnh Linh, who finished second in 7min 2.71sec for silver.

Nuttapong Sangpromcharee and Dechkajon Yaphonha from Thailand took home the bronze medal, crossing the finish line in 7min 40.06sec.

Having won a gold medal in the women’s pairs on May 13, top rower Phạm Thị Huệ took a personal gold in the women’s singles sculls on the last day of the rowing on May 14.

Huệ recorded a time in 8 minutes 23.20 seconds, ahead of Joanie Delgaco Talagtag from the Philippines, who came in second with a result of 8min 31.48sec, and Thailand’s Nuntida Krajangjam who grabbed bronze in 8min 34.24sec.

Vietnamese duo Lường Thị Thảo and Đinh Thị Hảo bagged another gold in rowing for Việt Nam when they won the women’s lightweight double sculls in 7min 35.01sec on Saturday morning.

Finishing eight seconds behind, Indonesians Mutiara Rahma Putri and Melani Putri pocketed a silver medal in 7min 43.93sec.

Thais Rawiwan Sukkaew and Jirakit Phuetthonglang took bronze in 7min 53.28sec.

Indonesia’s Ihram was first in the men’s lightweight single sculls for the gold medal with 7min 25.15sec.

He beat Vietnamese Bùi Văn Hoàn, who finished second in 7min 32.36sec, for a silver medal.

The bronze medal went to Filipino Cris Nievarez Marasigan, who clocked in at 7min 35.74sec.

Indonesian rowers kept showing their power on the last competition day as Jefri Ardianto Suwarno and Rio Riski Darmawan dominated the men’s lightweight pair with the best time of 7min and 84sec, ahead of Vietnamese Vũ Ngọc Khanh and Phạm Chung, who came behind for silver medal in 7min 05.42sec.

Edgar Ilas Recaña and Zuriel Sumintac Gumi from the Philippines placed in 7min 08.98sec.

A group of four from Indonesia, Edwin Ginanjar Rudiana, Sulpianto, Rifqi Harits Taufiqurahman and Memo, earned one more gold in the men’s quadruple sculls with a time of 6min 08.23sec.

Vietnamese  Nguyễn Văn Hiếu, Nguyễn Văn Hà, Nguyễn Văn Tuấn and Nhữ Đình Nam bagged silver in 6min 10.69sec, while Thailand’s Chanin Penthongdee, Adisorn Phuphuak, Prem Nampratueng and Thanaporn Ta On nabbed bronze with a time of 6min 21.58sec.

Duo Nguyễn Thị Giang and Phạm Thị Thảo of Việt Nam took home gold in the women’s double sculls, finishing in 7min 37.99sec.

Matinee Raruen and Parisa Chaempudsa from Thailand came in at 7min 39.22sec for the silver medal, while Shwe Zin Latt and Nilar Win from Myanmar bagged bronze in 7min 44.37sec.

Vietnamese Phạm Thị Ngọc Anh, Lê Thị Hiền, Hà Thi Vui and Dư Thị Bông, who won the first gold medal for the hosts in rowing on May 12, completed the last competition day by winning gold in the women’s lightweight coxless four with a time of 7min 06.05sec.

Thailand’s Nattariwan Nunchai, Jirakon Phuetthonglang, Patchareeya Jardsakul, and Kwanrudee Koonthong bagged silver in 7min 37.50sec, and Myanmar’s El Phyu, Sandar Shwe, Chit Phoo Ngon, Win Thuzar Thein took bronze in 7min 33.60sec.
