THỪA THIÊN-HUẾ — Talented French and Vietnamese artists, Sébastien Tellier and Limebócx, will together perform groundbreaking musical works combining contemporary music and traditional Vietnamese instruments, simultaneously with a unique video mapping produced by AC3 Studio at the live show Huế By Light, an exceptional sound and light show on December 12.
The five-day event, which aims to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Việt Nam, will be organised in collaboration by the French Embassy in Việt Nam, the Institute of France and the central People’s Committee of Thừa Thiên Huế province.
All performances of the week-long event will begin around 8pm and run from 100 to 150 minutes on December 8-9-10 at Ngọ Môn (Noon Gate), offering an art exchange during the tourism low season in winter.

The event’s organisers said art troupes from the US, France, Korea, Belgium and Việt Nam, including Wallonie-Bruxelles and Grand Poitiers, will join together in different performances titled: Four Season melody, Huế-Winter at Imperial Citadel.
It’s also an opportunity for local artists to exchange with international musicians in the first ever music and light show in the tourism hub, promoting community-based tourism and local arts groups.
According to the organising committee, the Huế By Light show project is implemented with the support of Vietnam Airlines, the official airline partner of this event, Alba Wellness Valley and Alba Mineral Water of Alba Group, Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VINIF), BRG Group and Azerai La Residence Huế.
The Institute of France opens offices in Huế and Đà Nẵng to boost cultural and educational activities among localities of France and central Việt Nam, as well as tourism from Europe.

A series of films, exhibitions, French language studies, tests and educational opportunities for colleges in France were organised by the Institute of France in Huế and Đà Nẵng in the past years.
France has co-operated with Huế over the past 20 years since the first Huế Festival was hosted by the province in 2000.
Huế, the imperial capital in Việt Nam for over 100 years, is a unique destination in central Việt Nam with its five UNESCO heritage offerings: the ancient citadel relic complex, Huế royal court music, Nguyễn Dynasty’s wooden blocks, Nguyễn Dynasty’s royal administrative documents, and literature on Huế royal architecture.
