Hong Kong martial arts actor Donnie Yen celebrates birthday with family

On July 29, Yen shared photos from the family celebration on his Facebook, stating: “A quiet birthday dinner with my favorite people in the world. They mean everything to me!”

In a separate post, the actor expressed appreciation for the birthday wishes he received on July 27, saying: “Thank you for all the birthday wishes and love. Time flies by; it’s another year. I cherish my family and health and will continue to embrace the future.”

Yen’s social media was inundated with birthday messages from family, friends, and fans. Wang also posted a photo of the couple with the caption: “Happy Birthday to my one and only.”

Yen married Wang, 43, a former beauty queen, in Toronto, Canada, in 2003. They have two children: a daughter, Jasmine, 20, and a son, James, 16. Yen has an older son from a previous marriage.

Yen is a global star, known for his work spanning Hong Kong and Hollywood. He is best known for injecting mixed martial arts into Asian cinematography and popularising the self-defence fighting style of wing chun kung fu through his Ip Manmovies (2008-2019), according to SCMP.

He was among the cast of the $1 billion grosser Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as well as Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan and John Wick: Chapter 4.
