Viet Duc High School in Hanoi was abuzz Monday morning as 12th graders returned after a seven-month gap.
At 6:30 a.m., the 12th graders were the first group of students to return to Viet Duc High School. |
The school has put up a board for students to share their feelings on their return. |
The school has arranged automatic temperature screening and disinfection machines for students at the front gate. |
The class president recorded the temperature of each student in the class before entering classroom. |
Students saluted the flag at the beginning of the week right in their classroom. |
Khanh Van, who teaches class 12A5, said, “I am very happy and excited to see students in class again”. |
Ngoc Anh, a student in the same class, said: “I’m glad to meet my friends again and scared of the virus at the same time. But happiness predominates because I can resume my studies”. |
Each class is divided into two rooms to ensure social distancing and each desk has only one student. |

Since Nov. 23, Hanoi has organized vaccination against Covid for children aged 15-17, mostly high school students. Until now, first dose coverage has crossed 90 percent. As of Monday morning, Hanoi has recorded over 13,000 Covid cases in the ongoing outbreak that started in late April. |
