HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội Police Department, in coordination with the city’s Customs Department, have dismantled a smuggling ring that was transporting nearly 100kg of synthetic drugs concealed in wine bottles brought from France to Việt Nam.
On July 15, the Drug Crime Investigation Division of the Hà Nội Police Department, working with the Customs Department, discovered and inspected a shipment from France arriving at Nội Bài International Airport, suspecting it contained drugs.
Upon examination, authorities found eight boxes containing 97.5kg of synthetic drugs, which were vacuum-sealed and disguised as wine bottles.
Based on collected evidence, the relevant authorities have arrested T.H.T, born in 1995, for illegal drug trafficking.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two additional suspects, T.N.A, born in 1995, and N.V.T, born in 1998, on July 19.
The Hà Nội Police Department have launched criminal proceedings against all three suspects. The investigation is ongoing. — VNS
