In a series of events in Germany, VinCSS, a Vietnamese cybersecurity startup, has presented a solution to protect smart vehicles against growing threats.
At a series of events, VinCSS has presented a solution to address the surge in automotive cybersecurity incidents since 2016.
As modern vehicles evolve into complex, software-driven machines, the need for robust cybersecurity has never been more critical. With more software integration on platforms like Facebook, Microsoft Office 2013, and even in Boeing 787, today’s vehicles are vulnerable to cyber threats that can compromise safety, privacy, and operation.
By 2025, over 470 million connected vehicles are expected worldwide, significantly raising cybersecurity risks.
In addition, automotive cybersecurity incidents have surged by 605% since 2016, with a 339% increase observed since 2018. The industry could face losses of up to US$505 billion due to cyberattacks by 2024.
Leveraging its extensive experience in both automotive and IoT security, VinCSS recently unveiled a solution at a series of events in Germany: the FIDO Munich Seminar and FIDO”Automotive: Industry Stakeholder Roundtable.”
These events brought together hundreds of global tech leaders to discuss automotive security enhancements.

VinCSS’s initiative centers around the FIDO Device Onboarding (FDO) protocol, developed by the FIDO Alliance.
The FDO protocol simplifies and secures the process of onboarding IoT devices in smart cars, treating essential tools as edge devices. This ensures that only authorized entities can interact with the devices, significantly enhancing vehicle security and reliability.
By establishing a secure environment, the FDO protocol protects the software and data of smart cars, preventing unauthorized tampering.
This safeguards against hackers decrypting, reverse engineering, or installing unofficial firmware, thereby bolstering the security of the entire supply chain.
VinCSS’ has been pioneering in researching, developing, and applying FDO to real-world problems for years.
In 2022, the company introduced the world’s first smart cameras with integrated FDO in Tokyo.
By 2023, they showcased an innovative FDO smart parking management solution at the FIDO APAC Summit.
In 2024, it launched the world’s first FDO network deployment solution in Taipei, revolutionizing network equipment deployment.
The FDO application for cybersecurity in smart car systems garnered significant attention at recent events in Munich, Germany. These initiatives highlight VinCSS’s unwavering commitment to pioneering a safer digital world.
