Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra is visiting Hanoi after touring UNESCO heritage site Ha Long Bay late last week.
The 41-year-old French football coach and former professional player has been visiting northern Vietnam with his friends since last week.
In Ha Long Bay they booked a five-star luxury cruise called Orchid Premium with room rates of VND18 million ($765) a night to explore Titop Island.
They also stayed at Best Western Premier Sapphire Halong.
On Sep. 2, Evra posted a picture of Ha Long Bay on his Instagram with the message: “Good evening, Vietnam.”
“The scenery here is so great. Everyone, don’t be jealous. I just wanted to show off a little (laughs),” the French star wrote.
In Hanoi, Evra enjoyed cha ruoi (ragworm omelet) at a street-side stall and visited Dong Xuan Market on Sunday.

Considered a seasonal dish in Hanoi, ragworm omelet is made with eggs and ragworms or palolo worms, a kind of seaworm typically harvested between late autumn and early winter in northern localities.
Evra also practiced Vietnamese martial art Vovinam at Hai Ba Trung Temple in Me Linh District.
“Having my first training session of martial arts called Vovinam. Thank you Vietnam,” he wrote on his Instagram with 10.4 million followers.

Then, he enjoyed dinner at the French-influenced Sofitel Metropole Legend and watched a football game at a rooftop cafe with Hanoians.
Many Vietnamese football fans who accidentally met the famous player praised him for being friendly and welcoming. Evra had no bodyguards present.
Evra joined United in 2006, winning five Premier League titles and the Champions League. He later played for Juventus, Olympique de Marseille and West Ham United. He won both the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups with France, before retiring in July 2019 and now working as a coach.
Vietnam reopened its borders to foreign tourists and lifted most Covid restrictions in March this year after over two years of closures.
