HÀ NỘI — Foreigners can now enter or exit the country via Vân Đồn International Airport in the northern province of Quảng Ninh, the first privately built and operated international airport in the country.
This is in line with the decision made by Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Bình Minh announced on Thursday with regards to the list of international border gates accepting foreign entries and exits on e-visas.
Previously, there were eight eligible airports – Nội Bài International Airport (Hà Nội City), Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport (HCM City), Cam Ranh International Airport (Khánh Hoà Province), Đà Nẵng International Airport (Đà Nẵng Province), Cát Bi International Airport (Hải Phòng City), Cần Thơ International Airport (Cần Thơ Province), Phú Quốc International Airport (Phú Quốc Island, Kiên Giang Province), and Phú Bài International Airport (Thừa Thiên-Huế Province).
All of them are State-run airports, under the management and operation of the Airports Corporation of Việt Nam, while Vân Đồn International Airport is constructed by a major Vietnamese real estate developer, Sun Group.
Việt Nam has completely reopened inbound and outbound tourism from mid-March with pre-pandemic visa policy reinstated and visitors required only to have negative COVID-19 tests prior to departure. — VnExpress News
