HCM CITY — Enterprises operating in Việt Nam paid very high salaries ranging from nearly VNĐ200 million (US$8,500) to VNĐ800 million ($34,000) per month to management cadre foreigners in the first quarter of the year, according to a report by recruitment service provider Navigos Group.
The report on recruitment demand for middle and senior personnel for the first quarter released on Wednesday says businesses in the tourism and hospitality industries are looking to hire more foreigners as senior personnel – for management positions like general director, general manager and heads of departments.
With the recovery of hotel and resort projects, the demand for senior personnel in the construction and operation sectors is also rising, the report says.
Many foreign companies have flown to Việt Nam to research investment opportunities after the country reopened international routes and granted visa exemptions for many countries in mid-March, it notes.
It says Việt Nam is a destination of interest in ASEAN and Asia regions for investors eyeing places where they can diversify production areas, reduce risks and strengthen supply chains.
The country is also seen as a labour market with the workforce assessed as having good skills, quick learning abilities and available at reasonable cost.
The relocation of factories from China to Việt Nam has created a number of new investment projects for the automobile industry in the country, the report notes.
There is a shortage of senior personnel or experts in the electric car battery industry because this is an industry that is being invested in and expanded by businesses around the world.
With banks focusing on digital transformation and automation, there is an increase in recruitment demand for personnel in information technology, data and solution architecture. These positions are especially concentrated in senior cadre, but such people are difficult to find and requires a lot of investment due to market competition.
The report forecasts that the hiring demand in the FMCG industry will be extremely high in the second quarter and succeeding quarters, with the appearance of many small and medium sized companies, mostly headquartered in HCM City and operating factories in neighboring provinces like Đồng Nai, Bình Dương, Long An, and Vũng Tàu.
The FMCG industry is strengthening recruitment for positions in e-commerce and in the digital field, but human resources are limited. — – VnExpress News
