Fire and smokes engulfed the headquarters of HCMC’s District 12 Police early on Saturday morning, as the cause is still under investigation.
The fire erupted after midnight near the police’s storage of morobikes from traffic violators.
The officers on duty tried to put out the fire with mini fire extinguishers, to no avail. The fire got stronger with black smoke spread over nearby houses.

Huong, who lives near the station, said that after a very big explosion, her house lost power and was invaded with black smoke, forcing everyone to run out.
“I felt like my walls and glass doors were shaken by the explosion,” she said.
Fire trucks then arrived at the scene and stopped the fire after around 10 minutes.
Police are investigating the case and assessing the damage.
