Dutch singer performs in Vietnamese designer’s dress

Dazzling in a silver dress with tasseled stripes and attached stones created by the Vietnamese designer, Heesters drew attention with every movement and dance at the Muziekfeest van het Jaar music festival on Saturday.

This is not the first time the Dutch singer has donned a creation by Tuan. She had chosen another design by him, named “Duong Chan Troi” (Horizon), during her appearance at a 2022 party in Dubai. Impressed by the Vietnamese designer’s talent, Heesters and her entourage subsequently contacted Tuan to place another order.

“Emma Heesters did not tell me that she would wear the dress at the music festival,” Tuan said. “All she mentioned was that she wanted a design in shimmering white and silver colors.”

The designer added that he and his team only had five days from receiving the singer’s order to complete the outfit. As he did not know exactly in which circumstance Heesters would don his outfit, he was “very surprised” seeing his creation at the music festival.

Tuan, 31, gained fame after his designs appeared at many domestic and international beauty contests.

He has become the favorite gown designer of many international celebrities, including Hollywood actress Caylee Cowan, Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna Royo, and Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova.

Heesters, 27, is one of the most famous singers and actresses in the Netherlands. She was the first Dutch artist to win MTV’s Push award in 2019, and she was listed among the top 40 most successful Dutch artists in 2020.

Muziekfeest van het Jaar is one of the largest annual music festivals in the Netherlands, featuring many of the country’s top artists.
