A couple of Western tourists were found sneaking into a riverside resort in a small town of Thailand and having sex after they got drunk, prompting authorities to take action.
The owner of a resort in Pai Town of Mae Hong Son Province last Friday caught a man and woman engaged in sex on her premises, The Nation reported.
The resort owner complained the incident to local police who said the unidentified couple were among a group of Western tourists visiting Pai for tubing, Pattaya One News reported.
Pai district chief Anek Panthayom confirmed the couple had been spotted having sex at 9 p.m. when the tubing service had ended.
Authorities have warned river-tubing operators in Pai to stop selling alcohol drinks to foreign tourists for security reasons.
Police are looking for the couple.
Under Thailand’s law, those committing obscene acts or exposing themselves in public can be fined up to 5,000 baht (US$137).
Earlier this month, a Chinese tourist couple were found having sex in a parking lot of Chiang Mai University.
