Daily cases continue to fall, no deaths recorded on Sunday

HÀ NỘI — The number of COVID-19 cases in Việt Nam continued to fall on Sunday, with 557 new cases and zero deaths recorded.

All of the infections were domestic, with a total of 476 transmissions detected in the community.

New cases were detected in Hà Nội (177), Hồ Chí Minh City (32), Bắc Ninh (32), Phú Thọ (26), Quảng Ninh (21), Nghệ An (21), Bắc Kạn (20), Quảng Bình (18), Lào Cai (16), Vĩnh Phúc (14), Thái Nguyên (14), Tuyên Quang (14), Đà Nẵng (14), Thanh Hóa (12), Thái Bình (12), Thừa Thiên Huế (12), Sơn La (11), Nam Định (11), Ninh Bình (11), Yên Bái (11), Quảng Trị (10), Hà Nam (10), Hòa Bình (9), Lâm Đồng (6), Hải Dương (6), Cao Bằng (6), Điện Biên (3), Hưng Yên (2), Khánh Hòa (2), Lai Châu (2), Quảng Nam (1), and Bến Tre (1).

The latest update brings the national caseload to 10,743,448 to date.

The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the country remains at 43,084, accounting for 0.4 per cent of all cases.

A further 7,300 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 9,649,814.

More than 229.5 million shots of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across the country so far, of which over 7.3 million have been given to children aged 5 to 11. — VNS
