HÀ NỘI — COVID-19 patients, who are allowed to monitor at home, will be lifted from self-quarantine after seven days with a negative test result for SARS-CoV2 instead of 10 days like before.

If a patient is still positive after seven days, they will have to continue quarantining for the next three days if they have received the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine and the next seven days if they have not received the full double dose.

Under the new guidance, the medical station assigned to supervise the self-monitoring patients is responsible for confirming the patient has fully recovered.

The guidance also regulates that COVID-19 patients, who are treated at medical facilities for at least five days, show a reduction of clinical symptoms, have no fever for at least three days and receive a negative test result for SARS-CoV-2, before being discharged from facilities.

After leaving the facilities, patients have to self-monitor at home for seven days, measuring their body temperature twice a day. The patients have to strictly follow the ministry’s 5K messages: Khẩu trang (facemask) – Khử khuẩn (disinfection) – Khoảng cách (distance) – Không tụ tập (no gathering) – Khai báo y tế (health declaration).

If there are any abnormal signs, the patients must immediately notify a doctor for prompt treatment.

COVID-19 patients with underlying diseases or comorbidities, who are treated at medical facilities at least five days, show a reduction of clinical symptoms, have no fever for at least three days and receive a negative test result for SARS-CoV-2, will be discharged or transferred to another department to treat co-morbidities or underlying diseases if necessary.

Patients treated in COVID-19 intensive care units and in critical condition due to other diseases will be identified as cured of COVID-19 if they have been treated for at least 14 days and have negative test result for SARS-CoV-2 from a real-time polymerase chain reaction test. The patients will be transferred to another medical department facility to continue treating their diseases if necessary. — VnExpress News
