Climate activists vandalize American billionaire’s $300M yacht

Two climate activists were arrested after blasting paint on the $300 million superyacht of billionaire Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie on the Spanish island of Ibiza.

Climate activist group Futuro Vegetal said two of their members used fire extinguishers filled with black and red paint to vandalize the superyacht called Kaos on Sunday.

Futuro Vegetal also posted a photo of the two members standing in front of the superyacht with a sign that read “You consume others suffer,” New York Post reported.

Futuro Vegetal said it did so because the privileges of the mega-rich caused “eco-social collapse” and that “the mega-rich live off the suffering of others” when using vehicles that are harmful to the environment.

The Spanish Civil Guard arrested the two activists at the pier. The Kaos is scheduled to leave Ibiza on Sunday morning and the paint blast took place right as the crew was about to depart.

Futuro Vegetal said it targeted the Kaos yacht owned by Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie because she is one of the richest women in the world. According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, she has a net worth of $7.77 billion.
