HCM CITY — HCM City’s Chợ Rẫy Hospital has applied the first complete set of health information technology solutions ever in Việt Nam.
The set includes the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) – radiology information system (RIS), artificial intelligence (AI), and digital radiography system, which was donated by Japanese company Fujifilm.
Dr Lê Văn Phước, head of the hospital’s diagnostic imaging department, said AI is widely used in medicine, especially diagnostic imaging.
With support from Fujifilm, the hospital has created an eco-system for systems such as RIS and PACS, at the visa medical department, he said.
These systems help reduce the time taken for diagnosis and eliminate mistakes caused by manual handling, and allow doctors to read and detect lesions faster, he said.
This model should be replicated in the hospital’s other departments as well as at other medical facilities in the country, he added.
Speaking at the handover ceremony at the hospital on Tuesday, Mamoru Morota, general director of Fujifilm Vietnam, said the hospital and his company have in recent years strengthened co-operation.
The AI solution, PACS – RIS medical information technology system and digital radiography system donated by Fujifilm would become effective assistants to doctors and help reduce time pressure, enable systematic management of patient information, increase accuracy, and help diagnose diseases in early stages, he added.
In the initial testing phase, Fujifilm has provided all resources like knowledge, technology, technical experts, and other human resources to support the hospital with all aspects of IT installation. —VnExpress News
