Three Chinese teenagers were arrested for allegedly murdering a taxi driver and robbing his car in central Vietnam
Luo Shi Jun, 16, Huang Jie Cheng, 18, and Gan Ying, 17 were handed over from the police of Quang Binh to the police of the neighboring Quang Ngai Province, where the murder was committed, on Monday to be investigated for a suspected murder of a taxi driver two days prior.
Traffic police of Quang Binh on Sunday were patrolling along a National Highway 1A section in Quang Thuan Ward when they saw a five-seat taxi car with signs of suspicions. They requested the vehicle to stop, but its driver did not heed the request and drove away quickly.
The car later collided with a motorbike but it continued to run. When the vehicle reached a market, it continued to collide with another motorbike. The car continued to escape and collided with another car on the road.
Police then arrested the three Chinese teenagers on the car.
The three admitted that they hired a 47-year-old taxi driver on Saturday to take them to different Vietnamese localities. At 7 p.m. the same day, they murdered the driver in Quang Ngai and disposed of his body. They then robbed the car and tried to escape, but were captured.
