Chinese actress Lin Yun stuns in Vietnamese designer’s creation

Chinese actress Lin Yun, celebrated for her role in Stephen Chow’s “The Mermaid,” graced the Weibo Night 2023 event in an elegant dress crafted by Vietnamese designer Tra Linh.

The dress, featuring a striking corset design, not only highlighted Lin Yun’s waist but also emphasized her bust with its intricate Swarovski crystal embellishments. Her look was completed with a combination of oversized earrings and a bracelet.

Last weekend in Beijing, Lin Yun was one of 125 celebrated Chinese celebrities attending the event hosted by technology company Sina, which aimed to nominate emerging talents and honor distinguished figures in the Chinese entertainment industry.

The collaboration between Lin Yun and the designer began at the end of the previous year, with Lin Yun’s team reaching out to Tra Linh to prepare this special gown for Weibo Night, said Tra Linh.

“Lin Yun wanted to portray a lady’s delicate beauty, so she chose a white princess gown,” she said.

At 27, Lin Yun has already made a significant mark in the film industry, not only with “The Mermaid” (2016) but also through her performances in “Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back,” “A Dream of Splendor,” and “Fall in Love at First Kiss.”

The designer behind the gown, Tra Linh, 32, hails from Central Highlands Lam Dong Province and launched her high-end bridal gown brand in 2013.

Her brand has since gained international recognition, extending its reach to the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

Tra Linh’s work includes the “We Are Roses” bridal collection showcased at Shanghai Fashion Week 2023. In addition to Lin Yun, her designs have been worn by prominent figures such as Chinese actresses Fan Bingbing and Yang Zi, and Thai actress Mai Davika.
