Bali resumes visa on arrival for Vietnamese tourists

Indonesian holiday island Bali resumed its visa on arrival program for 23 countries including Vietnam from Monday as it seeks to reopen international tourism after two years.

In addition to Vietnam, 22 countries that qualify to apply for a 30-day visa upon arriving on Bali Island are Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, the U.K. and the U.S., Bloomberg reported.

From Monday, Bali authorities also dropped its mandatory quarantine policy for international travelers.

However, tourists need to show proof of vaccination or booster and take a PCR test upon arrival and wait for results before accessing public areas.

Visitors who test positive are required to undergo isolation at the appointed quarantine hotel.

Travelers are required to conduct another PCR test on the third day before gaining access to provinces outside Bali.

Earlier, Southeast Asian countries like Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines and Thailand had reopened but with certain entry requirements for Vietnamese tourists.

From March 15, Vietnam will fully reopen inbound tourism, with foreign tourists allowed to visit the country without booking tour packages.
