Australian International School open day to explore Thu Thiem campus upgrades

AIS welcomes families to attend a special Open Day on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 9:30 a.m., at the newly renovated Thu Thiem campus, with a special VND17.3 million fee waiver (with terms and conditions).

Families will be welcome to explore the campus, including the new community and breakout zones for students and parents. The AIS senior leadership team will also be available to take parents on a dedicated tour and answer any questions.

“It is fantastic to have new community areas that our students and parents can enjoy in a safe way. We are looking forward to seeing more campus upgrades come to life soon and provide an even better educational experience for our students,” said Davina McCarthy, executive principal.

The new environment includes a light filled entry lobby leading to a naturally ventilated courtyard, landscaped with mature trees, native plants, and a variety of shaded pavilions for use by students, teachers, and visitors.

There are three new interconnected and functional zones to explore. The Student Zone provides distinct spaces for different kinds of student interaction; open seating, a playful nook and two acoustically treated seating booths for groups whereas the Visitor Zone is designed to feel more like a contemporary hotel lounge than your typical school waiting area.

The large open reception counter provides easy access to staff, while the lounge area offers a variety of comfortable seating options for guests. Strategically placed in the center is the Exhibition Zone, formed by gently curved vertical screens that help to define the main circulation paths while subtly creating a focal point for student exhibitions and displays.
